meet ursula

meet ursula...she is a black 1969 hercules 3 speed ladies frame...all steel and she is the most beautiful bike! i love how proper and lady like i feel when riding her. much different then riding maryjane. she was a christmas gift from the mister's family. that year everyone got a vintage bike...it was truly amazing. i haven't ridden ursula for awhile since i had loaned her to a friend and recently got her back and i am really excited to ride her again. she is perfect for wearing dresses & skirts and cruising around town... just in time for summer....and now she has a basket!

last week riding pretty posted about a DIY wicker basket and i thought what a great idea! to take a regular wicker basket and attach it to the handle bars with cute leather belts! so cool.  i have wanted to put a wicker basket on ursula but wasn't crazy about spending the money so i immediately went to the thrift store and bought a basket for $1!! how awesome is that! the basket is held by zip ties for now and when i find the perfect belt to match my leather grips the make over will be complete! hope this inspires you..bikes are truly the only way to travel :D

  1. what a lovely bike! I'm thinking about sprucing up my cruiser myself so I could have one bike for trekking and one for, well, cruising around! your bike is so cute too... love the leather handlebars and super cute basket addition!
