one amazing year ago!

so while we are on our much needed holiday and honeymoon,i thought i would share with you some pictures of our big day! it has been one year since we said i do and we have grown so much closer since that day. not only do we celebrate our one year of marriage but 9 AMAZING years together!

our wedding was all hand done. everything you see we did...well besides making the clothes really... the wedding ceremony and reception was held at my grandparents backyard. there were about 5 white tents and we strung 100 strands of christmas lights all over the entire backyard...it was so magical it was like walking in a backyard fair tale with hundreds of firefly's....the center pieces were designed by me and my amazing bridesmaids help bang those puppies out. my wonderful friend made runners out of coffee bean bags and little single succulent and cacti lined the tables as gifts to our wonderful guests..

my amazing sister-in-law made us these amazing butterfly cupcakes and since we didnt have a cake she made a mister and misses crocheted owls to sit at the cupcake table...she is truly an amazing artist as well as the most beautiful person inside and out! i love her to death! check her shop out when you get a chance :D

my dress was a vintage 60's dress. i had to get it altered as my upper body was a bit broad so we opened up the back. originally the dress had a cape  that was connected at the neck but it really wasn't my style so the tailor made it into a bustle which i let out for the ceremony and then pinned back up for the reception....i LOVE this dress and wish that i could wear it every day. i can't tell you how beautiful i felt that day...it wasnt the dress i had pictured in my head but the instant i put it on i new i wanted to wear it for my special day..
love these people!!!!
my beautiful bridesmaids...nope don't believe in serious pictures:D

our ceremony song was white summer by the yardbirds...which is a cover of a led zeppelin song...this version was a bit slower and it fit perfectly...it still brings tears to my eyes to listen to this song...it brings such beautiful and wonderful joy to my face to think of that moment when our eyes met.... my grandfather married us that day and we only invited emediate family to the ceremony as we really wanted it to be very private and very intimate.

we danced the night away or should i say i danced the night away...the only dance he agreed to was our first dance which was your precious love by marvin gaye...it was much more then we had ever hoped for...and was perfect in every way...

i swoon...he is soooo freakin handsome!!!! it slays me!!!!
thanks my dear little sweet pea for being the best husband and best friend i could ever ask for! you are the reason i was put here on this earth and in the words of marvin gaye " heaven must have sent you from above..."

with all my love,
cb

Every bit of your wedding looks so very beautiful -- the slightly blurry, taken at twilight with twinkly lights in the background photo is so overwhelmingly and wonderfully romantic! thank you for your sweet comment. I have always felt the need to "rush" and start my life.. not sure why. I finished undergrad in 3 years and just haven't thought about taking a break.. I want to finish, but now I may take some time off, maybe this summer after I figure out what I want to do with school.
