happy friday the 13th everyone! just a quick post to share my bike to work day! well i got up too late and missed all the booths :( but it was nice seeing a ton more people on the road...usually my commute to work there is just me and maybe one other rider...but yesterday they were all over the place, yay!
this is the street i take to get to work...equipped with green paint so that everyone is aware that it is a bike lane!
here is were i put mary at work...she gets to hang out all day in the sun :D
so all in all it wasn't the greatest experience but as long as i get to ride to work i am a happy little clam!
although to my surprise when i got home the mister got to hit up one of the east bay bike to work booths and look at all the goodies! a bike bell, a flashing tail lite, which is great to pop on your bag for extra exposure at night and a pant band if you can't cuff your pants! as nerdy as it looks it is so great to have...i have some bell bottoms that could use those next time i ride!
well i hope you all have a great weekend! today and tomorrow are my days off so i am about to get on my bike and enjoy a bit of sun with the mister and get ready for the east bay birthday bike party!

even though it caused me a lot of grief at the time, i miss riding to work every day. i definitely understand the joy of not having to take public transit, so i'm so happy you get to be pretty and ride mary to work every day! <3

ReplyDeleteThats so cool - my city usually has a walk to work day once a year. We went once and got to eat hot cross buns for breakfast :D
ReplyDeletebummer about missing the goody booths but at least your sweetheart scored some cool gifts. Everyone needs an awesome bike bell...everyone except my father in law who hates them more than root canals. He seriously cant stand the sound they make, weirdo
ReplyDeleteHowdy on this fabulous Friday the 13th! I am so in awe of your awesome strength and bike riding coolness! Not only is it healthy, good for the planet, but you look wicked awesome despite having ridden a bike to work!! Very, very awesome. The bad spine prohibits me from bike riding now...but when I used to do it...I looked like hell after I peeled off the helmet. You look very lovely always, that is a wicked cool talent!! Hearts, Janna Lynn

How awesome! I SO wish I could ride my bike to work... besides the fact that I need the exercise, don't want to pay for gas, AND my car is breaking down, it's better for the planet! Unfortunately I work about 20 miles away and I have a hard time biking down the street lol.

ReplyDelete@nikkibit: yea 20 miles is a long ride to do everyday! plus on the way back! 40 miles round ride! thanks for such a sweet and amazing comment and adding my button :D i am glad that i am inspiring, as it was one of the reasons i wanted to start this blog and share all my riding with you guys! riding is fun, easy and you can look damn good while pedalin' too! i hope more and more ladies start riding! help save the earth and buff up those legs ;D
ReplyDeletecool! I think we should have a bike-to-work-day too here, though we could certainly do with more bike lanes - my route to work is seriously scary for cyclists! Pleased the mister managed to snag you some bike-goodies xox
