the goings on

hi!
how was everyone's weekend? ours wasn't too shabby but our plans changed due to the weather...but it all turned out great in the end and we were able to enjoy ourselves :)

i woke up pretty late on saturday and MAN did it feel super good to get all that sleep! i guess i needed it! the house needed some cleaning so the mister and i put some albums on the turntable and cleaned up...i also wiggled and giggled about the house while swifering the floor :D it was fantastic! hehe

after that i got down to business! the mister had been asking me to make him a bike jersey from thrifted wool sweaters and a while back he found this great orange merino wool pullover that was a bit too big. wool jerseys are the best to ride in because it keeps the sweat off and keeps you warm and cools you down. they are what vintage bike jerseys used to be made out of.

i took the sides in and adjusted the armpit/sleeve and added grey pocket panels to the front and back. typically jersey's usually only have a back pocket but since the mister is such a huge fan of the vintage style he decided he also wanted the front pockets too!

i think it turned out really cute and we are going to add buttons to the front pockets so that things don't slip out when he rides.

oh and of course little rosie helped out by napping on our ironing board..such a good kitty! hehe

for some time i have been wanting to make myself a bike jersey since finding something cute and comfy to wear while going on long bike rides can be really challenging...bike clothing is REALLY expensive and really not my style so the mister and i have come up with a girl jerserys that is stylish and cute! we will be using recycled wool clothing and adding pockets and such to them! i am super excited! we have a bunch of other bike accessories that we will be working on in the coming months and i will most likely open up a new shop just for these bike items! i am so super stoked! :D

this is just a rough color sketch.

in other news i am also working on some more animal portraits for the citybirds shop and making some pendants of them to! crossing my fingers that it all works out!

we are developing our film from out adventure on friday, i can't wait to see the pictures!!

  3. Okay....first off..you look so adorable in the above pic! I love every single outfit you wear. Okay...secondly...that is so bad @ss about the jerseys!! You made a fabulous one for you mister, and I am super excited to see what you come up with for women. I am so excited for you! I still have to lose a few pounds and strengthen my core muscles a bit before I can start bike riding, but when I do...we will have to plan a ride on the same day at the same time...and pretend we are biking together! :) Your portraits are wicked awesome too.
