all aboard!

yay, we got our film back from walgreens and all is well ;) sunday was my nephews one year birthday and i was excited that it was down south which meant a bike adventure! we however had to wake up super early and boy did i want to sleep in but we got up and hit the road and took the train to sf.

we rode down the embarcadero and boy was it packed! there was a 10k run and it ended where we got off so we had to weave in & out of people. they always have cool sculptures on the water front and this rocket was new, so cool! would love to orbit the galaxy in that thing :D

we hopped on caltrain which is so easy plus they have a car just for bikes. i noticed we didn't take a picture of it but found this one. i wish all public transportation made it easy for bike riders, what a wonderful world it would be :)
i love riding trains, i grew up going on many train rides and find it is such a wonderful way to travel. you can read about my last train adventure here. the ride didn't take very long which was nice but i did take a little cat nap so that made it seem faster :)

we got to mountain view and headed out to the park. the way there was so pretty and the houses in downtown mountain view are so cute! i found myself wanting to live in so many of them!

the park was really nice and it was so much fun to see my little nephew. he is my brothers little nugget and i think he looks just like him when he was little. niko is just starting to walk and it was so much fun to watch him wobble and do a great job of holding himself up.
i love these picture of my cousin with niko. he is such a sweet little boy and i would love to kidnap him and make him mine!

it was such a nice day but very long, it was nice to sit in the sun with family and just shoot the shit. i am so happy my family is all in riding distance :)

tonight we are finishing up our packing to go camping again and i can't wait to visit one last night, so bittersweet! have a great weekend everyone, i have a happy post planned for tomorrow so stay tuned!

  2. awe, this sounds so fun! I will have to check out mountain view when I move that way.. there are so many little areas surrounding san jose to see! I'm a big fan of trains too, I'm thinking about flying to the east coast and traveling all the way down on the train system over there. It would be quite an adventure!

  5. Yeah, that's awesome that they have a car for bikes! That is a very smart and common sense idea. San Francisco sounds like so much fun- I want to visit! I've never even been to California actually. Are those palm trees?! That is bananas.

Aww, that little Niko is way adorable! I always giggle when they are first starting to walk because it's so cute and they look like they're drunk. :) Have an awesome camping adventure this weekend!

  8. it sounds like an amazing weekend :) that's so cool that the train has a bike compartment too! Trains are possibly my favourite way to travel, I find it really relaxing, although I do yearn for the old rails - newer trains & lines just don't have that "berr-bum-berr-bum" thing going on! (if you know what i mean?!)
Hope you have a magical weekend camping sweetie & you see bob again too xox

  12. oh wow, what i wouldn't give to be able to wear a denim jacket right now, but that would basically create a rotisserie, so i guess i'll wait a couple months.

train travel really is nice. i love flying, but i think trains are so much more relaxing, and i love the car for bikes only! aaaaand, i've still never been bike riding through sf, only walking, but one day i'd like to!

  13. I love the photo of you in the jacket in front of the rocket. It could be a fashion ad. It looks like you guys had an awesome little trip. That rocket is so cool, I wish I could've seen it when we were in the area last week. Thank you for always leaving me such nice comments. I always look forward to getting comments from you because I admire you and your blog so much.
