dress the part

happy wednesday! today is my friday which starts the first of my thursday/friday day off. i have the days packed with some with fun activities so i am sure i will survive the change and just make the time i have with tom more special.
this outfit i wore last week. i found this dress while thrifting a while back. i had been on the search for the perfect mustard yellow dress and this one was perfect and i was very happy it fit too! i had been saving it for something special so i decided to wear it to work. might not sound special, you're right BUT that day a writer from apartment therapy was coming in to do an interview about the rugs we sell and the space so i wanted to dress up a bit.

to say i wasn't nervous would be lie. i was. i was representing the company and with the owner living in turkey for a year the spotlight was on me! eek! the interview went really well and the lady who is writing the piece was super sweet so it was a piece of cake. i am so happy that we are gonna be a part of such an awesome site.

a word of advice when wearing a new outfit when riding, make sure you are comfortable in what you are wearing before you get on the road and ride. the night before i did a little test to make sure i wouldn't be showing anything ;) the dress was actually really comfy to ride in and i really like the silver details i chose to wear with it. what you don't see are the bull stud earrings i am wearing.

i think next i will pair this dress with my purple tights for fall!!

p.s. i did a little guest post over at thriftcore, check it out!

  20. first, i LOVE your dress, and i have a sort of love affair with mustard dresses in general. and speaking of mustard dresses, my sister and i were out browsing a few weeks ago, and i picked up the prettiest mustard dress with ruffles for sleeves and asked (excitedly), "isn't this so pretty?! look at the color!!!" and her response was, "uhhh, you like those sorts of colors. i don't." i guess some people just don't get mustard ;)

second, your belt and nails are amazing. seriously.
