i am super excited to start off this series with one of my favorite bloggers, amy morby from a is for ampersand. check out her... in the details!
This is a small part of my record player. My husband surprised me last Christmas with an amazing vinyl setup--a turntable, vintage receiver, and beautiful vintage speakers. As someone that requires music to function, it was the best present I ever could have asked for. I use this record player daily--I turn it on while i get ready for the day, and it's usually playing vinyl tunes all night while I blog, work on freelance designs, or sew.
Music is my life and has always played a monumental role no matter what stage of life I'm in. I As cheesy as it sounds, I wouldn't be the person I am today without my music--in a way, music taught me how to design, made me a better designer, and continues to inspire me daily to design and live a creative life. I firmly believe a life without music just isn't worth living. :)
thanks amy! as crafters we all know how important music can be while we busy away with our hands! if you want to be a part of this fun new series email me at ccpb83(at)gmail(dot)com
have a great weekend everyone!

I like this idea! The details are a huge part of who we are, quirks, creativity, and everything else. Wait, I actually love this idea. I'm going to email you right now.
ReplyDeleteI understand how important record players can be!
ReplyDeleteI simply adore the look of vintage electronics. Polished metal, chrome, and wood paneling. It's a sense of style that's long forgotten these days, and one I sorely miss. That's a particularly gorgeous Kenwood. The old blue digital display takes me back to listening to prog rock on the living room carpet with my dad as a kid.
ReplyDeleteI've had my record player for two years now....it belonged to my father's best friend, who might as well have been my uncle, that passed away when I was 13. I got the vinyl itch (ooo that sounds kinda nasty) and my dad let me raid his collection. I AM A WOMAN OBSESSED. I love that I am sharing something with a man who is gone. Something that we probably would have enjoyed together as I had grown into adulthood. It is a part of my daily life as well and I imagine it will be something I pass on to my own kids.

What a great picture! I am obsessed with vinyls right now! I have a very old record player. I might have to invest in a better one soon :)
ReplyDeleteLove this series!
Now I am wondering if I should have written a bit more with my blurb....let me know if it needs more!
love music and love amy!
ReplyDeletei still owe you my 'it's in the details' - i'm so forgetful! xo
This is a fantastic way to share those moments of everyday that make the the days a little softer than they otherwise would be.
ReplyDeleteI love Amy's post! Music is absolutely necessary in my house, so I know how she feels!
Thanks, doll!
great idea! Music is life! So wonderful.
ReplyDeletehope you're doing well lovely
XO
This is going to be a fun series.
ReplyDeleteI love Amy's detail and how she describes it. It makes me want to go turn put on a record. Sadly, I have a record player and some pretty awesome vinyl that I never listen to. I guess it's in an inconvenient location (our dining room) so I always overlook it. I should make it a priority to enjoy it more, because it really is so much fun.
Hope you have a great week!
<3 Jenny
