it has a few dings that need to get repaired but other then that it is perfect. it is from the 60's and tom bought it while in new zealand which was right before we met :) i can't wait to try it out...now for a wetsuit!!!
if you have ever gone surfing before you know the thrill of it, how exciting it is to catch a wave and speed through the water. how exhilarating it is. i told tom riding a bike and being able to go long distances is really awesome, how amazing that someone's body can move a machine that can propel over hills and mountains but riding a wave is like connecting with mother nature and letting it take you for a magical ride.
we have an underwater camera and we are both totally so stoked on using it. we think next weekend we will head down to santa cruz and revisit the place we spent most of our weekends long long ago.
oh and a big thanks to kelly-anne for telling me that our friend still had the board!
xo,

that is so awesome! i love crossing things off lists, especially if they're as cool as surfing :). even if you didn't get a surfboard, you're pretty much winning with that car. i bet that thing rides the waves of the road like a champ! congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome is that? I totally agree with you about the thrill of surfing. I haven't been able to surf since '06....which was the last time I was in San Diego. Can't wait to hear all about your surfing adventure, and the pics will be nothing short of awesome, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteyou used to surf too! why can't you live closer to me! we could be sewing buddies and surf friends!
DeleteI remember the first time I went surfing with Tom... Dad lifted me off the ground trying to shake me into my wet suit, and I look like an over stuffed sausage once I finally forced my body into it. Le sigh.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know I featured you in my Things I love Thursday post!

ReplyDeletejanna your the sweetest. i;m glad you love me spoiling you, that makes me happy. you deserve to be spoiled hot lady!
Deletewoo hoo. Looking forward to seeing you catching some gnarly waves dude. I think surfing would be tons of fun but I'm too scared of sharks to enter the water. Jaws really messed me up.
ReplyDeleteI love your new blog design, it's FAB!!! Totally you and totally unique...really cute and put together. Plus you've got whales on your sweatershirt, which makes it extra amazing.

I hope this year is off to a wonderful and productive start for you! xoxo
Yay, supercool board!! I sooo wanna try surfing sometime, I'm hoping we can do it on our honeymoon :) It seems really hard, but so cool!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely weekend!
xo Lisa
Where are you thinking of going on your honeymoon? I know you have showed some places. It isreally easy if you are on a 10 foot board. It is so sturdy and just glides in the water.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous board!
ReplyDeleteI used to surf a little... years ago now. I LOVED it so much. You are right, there is nothing like it. I still occasionally dream about it! It's not practical for me to surf right now in my life but I still have my wetsuit in the cupboard and I'm not throwing it out... When my little one is older I will take him on surfing holidays and we'll have so much fun!
I love the sea so much. You know that Morcheeba song, "i left my soul there, down by the sea"? That's me!
Yay! So exciting to find another surfer! Wish we could hang out. If we have a tiny one we will for sure have it swimming before it can walk.
Deleteoh my stars, that's very exciting!!!!!!! it makes me miss summer already.
ReplyDeleteXO
i can't wait for the wetsuit photos! ;D

ReplyDeleteSurfing is so fantastic! I used to surf a lot when I was younger and would spend the summer with the fam in San Diego. I think about it all the time. My brother lives in L.A. and made a cool little surfing video of his roommate... http://vimeo.com/13477201
I can't wait to hear about your surfing stories! I am so excited for you!

ReplyDeleteI haven't felt jealous in awhile, but.... I love your car and your hoodie! I love VWs and quirky hoodies. I would love love love to learn to surf, but the Gulf of Mexico isn't the ideal spot to learn! I live in Tampa Bay.
