happy little things #9

aaahh, my weekend has begun and i can't tell you how much this week has kicked my arse! this weekend will be spent, finishing up a tattoo design for a lovely little lady, updating my flicker portfolio, visiting home depot, hunting for the perfect piece next to our desk and then last but not least a 80 mile bike ride saturday morning! sounds like a lot right, you bet it is and i am soooooooo looking forward to it ALL!
a few weekends ago, while at the store, i sited some ranunculus bulbs and quickly got in line to purchase them and this last weekend i planted them! it was the perfect time to plant and come summer they will be bursting from the earth full of color.  our little front yard needs a bit of color as it is currently all succulents and poppies. i can't wait.
tom got me these red ranunculus' for valentines day. they are one of my favorite flowers. i wanted orange ones for our wedding but they weren't going to be in season which almost made me reschedule the whole thing! hehe.... but we made it work ;)
this is a mixed box of colors so i am more then excited to see what pops up! it will be even more exciting because by the time they are blooming my poppies will be too, making our front yard a great destination for hummingbirds, bees and butterflies, yay! another reason why i love spring and sumer oh so much.

  1. Yay for flowers! Having some color in the front or backyard, bugs and birds is really what makes Spring for me. I'm a huge fan of pansies :)

  12. Ranunculus are gorgeous! I don't know if I'll plant at all this year. It's been such terrible weather here and I don't know if I have the energy, which makes me a little sad. I better go start a list of local u-pick farms for my canning!

  20. I would love to grow ranunculus flowers! We're attempting to grow some wild flowers right now but I tend to have the opposite of a green them. I kill everything. Crossing my fingers that I break the trend this time around!
