a perfect tattoo for spring and a winner!

happy thursday! today i am doing my taxes, oy vey and i hope it doesn't hurt too much but i will be happy to get them over and done with it.
i am super excited to share with you another tattoo design that was done for the wonderful and super sweet cayce. she was such a pleasure to work with and i really enjoyed drawing her something special. i always get excited when someone wants birds AND flowers!
i came up with 3 sketches for her and the first one i did she LOVED. let me tell you, tracing paper is my best friend, it makes my life so much easier because it makes it easier to sketch out an idea, is easy to erase and if i don't like something but certain elements i can just trace over what i have already done and move on to another idea.
cayce is getting the outline done on march 11th and i can not wait, as i am sure she can't either. getting tattooed is so much fun. i will for sure share it here on the blog. currently on my flickr i am putting together a portfolio so it is easier to show my work there rather then refer to blog posts. there is just never enough time in a day to get everything done!

doing all these designs is giving me the itch! i gotta make my birthday tattoo appointment asap. any furture tattoo's in your horizon?

    I love the birds and flowers! You should make a City Bird's Coloring book with your tattoo designs. I would like it... just saying.

    Good luck with the taxes... mine experience doing taxes wasn't so good this year :(

      that sounds like such a great idea! i know my niece would love that! i keep putting them off, first i have to clean the house, take a shower and feed myself and THEN i will do my taxes, really don't want to do them!

      I have a large colorful Phoenix on my back (not in flames but gracefully swooping down!) and just don't know what will go with that! But thought it would be nice to get a real bird...

      It would be easy to add something too it im sure. Flowers or a background. I love peices that you canadd on to over the years.

    Oh this is just too sweet! I love it! :) I have such mixed feelings about tattoos... I mean - I LOVE them, but I can never pick one particular for myself. I have some plans, though. Keep your fingers crossed that I stop postponing and finally go get a tattoo myself :)

      yea it can be overwhelming on deciding on a design. when i get mine i draw it on myself before i go to make sure i love it. that really helps a lot! i hope you get one soon, sweetie!

    I'm a bit of a scaredy cat about tattoos, but I do have a design in my head that I would get if I ever got one. If the mister gets one, then I may.

    that is GORGEOUS! i am seriously itching for a new tattoo like crazy, and i'm thinking maybe i can ask my dad for a birthday tattoo since he's been after me to get another one. if i can't draw it up like i want, i'm definitely emailing you!

    So when are you starting that apprenticeship? ;) I've been around the tattoo world for awhile and I've seen much less talented draughtsmen slingin ink.

      That is a really interesting comment, tom and i had always discussed him getting a tattoo machine but i never considered myself doing it. This has literrally taken up all my thoughts all weekend. Thank you for this comment, extremely though provoking and something i am totally into. Xo

    Such a beautiful design, I am inching ever closer to mine, I want a bird too but its a native NZ bird (Fantail). When I get braver - perhaps you can draw me one.

    i have an appointment next week and i can't wait! i'm getting a sandworm (a 'la beetlejuice) added to my half sleeve! it has been over a year since i've been able to work on it and i really have the itch!
