what i wore: pink florals

IMG_2706
hi! i can't tell you how exciting it has been since we started swimming. i just can't. it has been really good for my soul and i look forward to it when we go. since chlorine isn't hairs best friend, i have been putting conditioner on my ends before the plunge. i don't really use the dryer much, just for my bangs and the crown of my head to get a little volume, but since swimming i have put curlers in my hair so that i am not using any heat at all.

i love the soft blurriness of this picture!

the other reason why i love the curlers is usually when i sleep my curls they kinda die the next day but going this route they are fresh and springy in the morning. these pictures are the day after my hair was in curlers so they aren't as crisp but i still love it.
it is funny, 28 years old and still figuring out what works for my hair and how to keep it happy. at the moment i need a hair cut to make the curls happier but i just can't spend the $70 at the moment so this is the perfect fix.

  5. That skirt is awesome, the fabric is vaguely similar to a dress I just bought for my little niece. So pretty! $70 for a haircut? You need to move to a hick town, lady. I have an awesome stylist and it's only $20 usually for a cut, rinse, blowout. My sister gets her hair cut when she comes up to visit. Come visit, I'll take you to get your hair did. :)

    1. i know haircuts in california are expensive unless you want to go to california cuts and have them kinda mess up on your hair..i had a guy once cut my hair and one side was longer then the other...and i didn't ask for that kind of hair cut. i'll come visit you and get a $20 hair cut! that sounds like a great deal! hair cut and i get to meet you!

  7. I love your style! THAT SHIRT is awesome! I am all about creative open designs on the back of shirts, I feel like its a nice surprise when people don't expect it :)
your hair looks fabulous too! The curlers are working wonderfully, I have been a lazy butt to use my curlers... but wanna start doing that more cause' of the damage curling irons cause.
    hooray for swimming!

    1. i agree that an open back is a nice surprise. i am a bit obsessed with them right now. yea irons are not hairs friends either...so hard to be a lady sometimes. i am always so envious of the men who have GORGEOUS curly long hair....their hair has problem never need a chemical product or hot iron in its life, so healthy and pretty! uh, men.

  8. Lovely! I've been meaning to try curlers soon too. I'm 26 and still trying new hair things all the time because I spent my teens too lazy to do my hair and my early 20s with super short hair.

  9. Love the surprise of the back of the top :) I know what you mean - I'm now 37 & still have a battle with my hair everyday, ha ha. I used to use curlers pretty much everyday but haven't in years, you've made me want to get out there & get some new ones :D xox

  13. first, this is my first visit to your blog so mind me, but i LOVE your tattoos. like absolutely adore everything about them and i'm sure you hear that a lot, but i have to say it. they are downright amazing - i love linework like that (all my tattoos currently have really no coloring to them - except a heart that happens to be shaded a solid red - so i'm biased here!)

i love this outfit as well. your hair is gorgeous and it looks like you have it down to me - i still have trouble finding time to brush my hair let alone curl/roll it. hence why i have a boy hair cut now.

and i'm more than jealous of your cute bike necklace

  14. I adore this outfit! It is so Spring-like and fun. Loving the adorable bike necklace. I bought some bike earrings recently :)

Your hair looks gorgeous! Quick question about the curlers: do you have them in when you sleep, then? Isn't it uncomfortable? Just something I've always wondered about!

    1. thanks suki!!! yes i sleep with them in and put a headband/scarf around my curlers to keep them in place and it helps but it isnt super comfortable sleeping in them...oh the things we do for beauty and to keep my hair for getting further split ends!

Good job on treating your hair well! I just had 3 inches cut off because I was starting to look like a brunette rapunzel! I'll have to try your leave-in conditioner trick so I can be better to the ends of my hair!

I am so excited to be heading back to AZ in a few weeks, because there is a pool I can use! I love swimming, too!

  25. for your curly hair you MUST try this new trick its amazing takes no time at all and makes your hair look awesome
you get a stretchy fabric headband and wrap the hair around it, sleep on it or just do it in the morning while you get ready and it will make your hair look so gooooood
