this last week i really needed to break up my routin of waking up, getting on the train and working. i asked tom if he would like to accompany me to the farmers market so we woke up early last saturday morning and rode our bikes in the glorious warm and sunny morning.
we grabbed some iced coffee at one of the stalls and then headed to grab some handmade butternut squash ravioli and some red pepper garlic sauce. sounds good? yup, it pretty much is heaven. one of the main reasons i like to go to the farmers market is for the chard. i love chard. it may be one of my favorite greens and this is one of my favorite recipes to make! the picture they have of it isn't exactly yummy looking but looks are totally deceiving, truuust me.
we grabbed some pastries and sat at a park bench before i had to jump on the train to work. it was hard parting with tom on such a glorious day. i could have spent all day in the sun with him. daaaaamn you work! always getting in the way! hehe
hope everyone's week is going well. what do you to break up your everyday routine?
xo,
cb

Deletethis post makes me want to go there!! farmers markets are my fav when i visit san diego
ReplyDeletei love going to farmer's markets! my dad used to grow chard in our enormous garden when i was little...it's probably been that long since i've eaten it. sometimes i long for those days when i could pull a carrot out of the ground, rinse it off, & eat it in the warm sun.
