hiya! so, friday came and it was fantastic, fantastic, i tell you!!! a while ago, tom discovered a new lake. you would never even know it existed because it is in a neighborhood at the end of the street. we road our bikes there, picked up some cherry rejuvenating power along with some nectarines and found a spot on the sand under an umbrella. thanks don castro (that is the name of the lake), for providing umbrellas, my skin thanks you.
this lake is pretty, pretty awesome. one, because it is big for being a man made swimming lagoon. two, you can actually bbq right next to the lake AND lastly, the water is heated so it isn't freezing cold, it is perfect on a hot day. it was bliss, truly bliss. we listened to some tunes, soaked up some sun, threw the tennis ball around and ate some cherries. it was perfect and when it was time to go it was soooooooo hard to leave. we are heading over there after tom gets off work today. this is my kinda place and i could easily find myself there everyday i have off. have i mentioned how perfect this lake is?
we headed home, washed up and oh gosh...we did.... we went out on the town. since moving here, we haven't really ventured out, well....because there really isn't a night life here nor any place we have wanted to go. but the a's were playing, we were hungry so we found a super awesome dive bar, ate some divey food and drank many beers. it was so fun! plus we got to watch the regulars and i met a few dudes who tattoo in the area and i will be talking to them soon and seeing if they need a shop girl! it was a fantastic day, and we have our silly town to thank for it! thanks hayward sometimes you are pretty awesome!

Yah! I love days that are super awesome. That lake looks awesome and perhaps you'll be a tattoo shop girl soon? wow - that IS really exciting:D
ReplyDeletei hope to be a tattoo girl! wish me luck!
DeleteAaah that looks AMAZING! :) I love swimming in lakes, so much nicer than the sea (although the sea is of course magnificent, but I'm not a big fan of salt water). Your look so gorgeous in the third photo!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for some sun and swimming myself, in a couple of weeks we are going to a coast town south of London, fingers crossed the weather will be good!
xo L
yes the sea is amazing BUT you never have anything to fear in a lake really, especially a lake like this. i will send you some good weather vibes!!!!!!
Deletethat sounds like my kind of place free of sharks and other ocean scariness. yes lakes are much more my scene. Hope things work out with the tattoo shop girl thing. They would be insane not to hire you.
ReplyDeleteif the lake was pink and you were next to me, that day would have blown my mind!!!
Deleteaww thanks amber, i hope they aren't losers and turn me down! will you fight them for me?
you are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteoooh tattoo shop girl! f - u - n !
I have not been to the beach not once this year yet! I'm not big on Chicago beaches... but hopefully I get over that and soak up some sun & get sand in my shoes this summer before it ends...
thanks des! i want to be a shop girl so bad! i hope it works out for me! i hope you get some sun, it is good for the soul!
DeleteOh that place sounds awesome! I love lakes for just relaxing and having a nice time. You are so gorgeous, and I just love your swimsuit! I'm glad you had such a good day.
ReplyDeletethanks kristi. lakes are so stress free and wonderful, i think everyone needs a nearby lake they can go to!
DeleteThat place looks awesome! We live near Lake Norman (in NC) but most public open areas are for boats only and the only other place isn't nearly as nice. Very envious right now lol.

there is another lake in town that you can't swim in either just boat and fish. there is something in the water like a bacteria that isn't good for humans but then i am not sure about the fishing....i hope it is just catch and release!
DeleteNice! Those pictures are really well done too :)
ReplyDeletetom took them! i think he has such a great eye, he takes some really awesome pictures.
DeleteThe lake sounds so dreamy! I'm looking forward to summer so much now, I want to go swimming!
ReplyDeletebabies and swimming is the best, they are so cute! this summer will be the best for you because of that! yay!
Deleteguhhh those pictures make the lake look SO beautiful- but it seems like it was more beautiful in person. isnt it so lovely to find special places that just call to you?
ReplyDeleteSUMMER CAN BE AWESOME, EVEN IF YOU'RE PALE haha
i was so happy tom found this place! i want to go there everyday!
DeleteOh wow - what a perfect day! That pic of you smiling, with wet hair, well, you just look BEAUTIFUL. Sarah xxx
ReplyDeletethanks sarah, you make me blush :)
Deleteit sounds fabulous & looks gorgeous! what a great place to have nearby on a hot sunny day - that's my kind of place (if we lived somewhere sunny that is!). And the local adventure sounds FUN! xox

i was very very happy. being near water always makes me happy :)
DeleteHow fantastic!! I wish there was a lake that close to my house. That's so awesome that you can ride over there and swim a bit.
ReplyDeleteThe best I can do is go stand outside with the hose and pretend I am at a lake... I'm gonna go do that now...
Look at you! LOOK AT YOU!

so much fun! the second to last shot of you is stunning i love the lighting, your tatoos look great and you look so content and relaxed. cheers to summer!
ReplyDeletedag girl, i'd be at that new found lake every chance i could get! what a swell spot to plant yourself and sun soak....well under the protection of the brolly of course ;) great shot of you Cristie!!!! truly beautiful is what. lakes are where it's at for me, i still fear sharky waters after seeing Jaws, like most folks - baha! happy week wishes, hope next weekend hurries along so you can get right back there asap. xo ♥
ReplyDeleteThe water is heated?! DANG.
ReplyDeleteYou look like you had a blast in the photos. Love the one where the kid is looking at you in the background. :)
That place looks bad ass, I wish I had one in my neighborhood but I guess the ocean is just up the road so we don't get cool stuff like that, plus, it's always super cold here. It seems like Tom is always discovering something cool on his bike rides. Go Tom for exploring. I'm bad about always taking the same exact route.
ReplyDeletelooks perfect!! We're heading to the lake next week, and I cannot wait!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat's up, every time i used to check weblog posts here in the early hours in the daylight, as i enjoy to gain knowledge of more and more.
