what i wore: bicycle skirt garter, a review!

happy wednesday! first off, i want to thank everyone for all the wonderful comments and support on my tattoo apprenticeship. i am beyond the moon about it. they have asked me to attend the sf tattoo expo this weekend, i have never been and i am so excited and nervous. it should be a good time and i will for sure take pictures and share!

today i have a wonderful review. i was contacted by eleanor's, an awesome bike boutique located in new york city, and they wanted me to do a guest post for them and to review one of their products, a skirt garter! i was so stoked because i had been wanting one and have never seen them in any of the shops around here. if you are a a dress/skirt wearing bike lady, like me, then you have to have one of these!

i always wear little shorts under my skirts/dresses, it makes me feel more comfortable while riding and bending over but my skirts/dress still would blow up while riding and especially when it is super windy. with the skirt garter your skirt stays down and i must say it is a huge relief. getting looks on my bike doesn't bother me too much but there are times that it does and the skirt garter really makes a difference. i want to be able to wear what i want while i ride and to feel at ease without having to worry about flashing anyone! eep!
i have been wearing it like crazy; the best thing is that it doesn't move while you ride which was a concern of mine. i wore it on a night out with tom to a bike party in the city were i wanted to dress up a tad and when i got off my bike, i just hiked it up a bit and it was hidden from view. it comes in three colors, cannery yellow, blue sky and bubble gum. plus it also comes in different sizes too which is awesome.
now i can wear what i want without having to sacrifice my dignity. if you live in nyc, i suggest you pop on over to eleanor's. i only wish i could!

  15. What a handy dandy idea! Very sexy, too! I love this concept of a garter. I usually don't wear skirts when riding just because of the wind-underwear-in-full-view aspect, but this opens a whole new door.

You look adorable, by the way! Love the boots and the dress!

  17. Your outfit is amazing! I love the dress/blazer combination. I've never heard of a skirt garter for riding, but that's a really awesome idea! Glad to hear it works well :) I guess if I ever live close enough to bike to work, I'll have to keep that in mind.

  23. What a great idea!! I've been bottling it and wearing trousers or shorts to cycle in up until now, but I'm SUCH a dresses and skirts girl. I'm going to need to look into getting me one of these! =)

  25. I really REALLY need one of these! I cycle to work along the harbour in the mornings with about a mile of cars at a stand still all gawking at my skirt blowing up around my ears! I'm not hugely bothered about it but it's not nice feeling self conscious, it does take away from the joy of cycling a bit1

  26. that is fantastic!! I am def going to look into this, did you get a med? I'm like you on this one... I always wear little spandex under my dresses/skirts, which I wear every single day to work and usually don't mind getting looks because I'm not really flashing anyone but when it comes to pulling up closer to the office I always awkwardly pull it forward. anywho, you look completely darling also!!! I love that little dress w/ the blazer & those boots are fantastic- what an amazing thrift find!! around what area of Cali do you live in btw? (not exact of course, don't mean to be a creeper just wondering bcuz the scenery always looks so beautiful).
