hello my lovelies. boy, do i miss blogging properly but being limited is working for me right now. life right now feels: crazy, overwhelming, tiring, complicated and stressful BUT i am so grateful for everything that is happening right now. i just have to keep positive and that is really what is helping me right now, that and hanging out with friends. i normally am one of those people that hates doing stuff after work. i just want to go home and chill out and relax but these past two weeks i have been going out to dinner with friends, celebrating birthdays and catching up with my mom. it has been great, it keeps my mind off the stuff that bums me out.
right now, i feel so grateful for the people in my life, off line and on line. having such wonderful people in my life has been what gets me through the day. my co workers at the tattoo shop are some of those people. they are always happy to see me, make me laugh and have really welcomed me with open arms. my buddy at the shop was awesome enough to being his spare tattoo machine parts and friday we fixed my shitty machine, it still sucks but i got it to run properly and have a better understanding off how it works and how to trouble shoot it if it starts acting up again. we also started putting together a shading machine but we were missing a part so we will attempt finishing it in a few weeks. tattooing is getting easier each time, i feel slightly more confident, not ready yet to tattoo a real person but im making my way. this week i am hitting up mexican super markets to get some pig skin! creepy yes but it is the next best thing to real skin. i have so much determination and soooo much overwhelming support, its crazy. i am a lucky lady. but even still i have doubts. it is true what they say, you are your own worst enemy but i am determined enough not to let myself get in the way of something so important to me. i have to keep my eye on the prize, keep my head high and know that even the most skilled artists have their bad moments.
xo,
cb

So, I'm really glad that you are getting out and about. Being around people is so healthy for you. I'm the same way, I love to relax after work and if I'm down I tend to go into my cocoon but friends lift your spirits in this magical way and it's so important to be around people you love. I'm glad you're taking such good care of yourself. That's an awesome photo by the way.
ReplyDeleteI always never want to go out after work but then sooo happy when i do! It feels great after and friendships are so important.
DeleteI totally know how you feel! I feel like I am in the same boat with you in terms of being busy. I can't seem to tread water fast enough right now. You are so lucky and fortunate to have people around you who are supportive and loving! That is so important! I am supporting you from afar and wish the best for you!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have to find pig skin... eeeeek! I know you aren't the first person to use that as tattoo practice and you won't be the last. I am sure you will do great and be ready to tattoo people very soon!
Don't judge yourself too harshly. You are accomplishing major MAJOR things right now and that is so admirable. Keep trucking, girl!
Sending you much love!
Well at least we are feeling the same way together, nice to have a partner, no? You know i am supporting you too sweetie, i am so inspired by you and your love of art and history and bringing to all together! Tattooing that pigskin today!!!!!!!!! Aaahh! I am so harsh to myself, i have to trick myself somehow into thinking the opposite. It will come. Thank you for your kind words kristen. I am so lucky to know you! Xoxoxoxxo
DeleteI'm glad you wrote this because I'm going through a similar phase at the moment: I feel like I'm constantly on the verge of feeling overwhelmed, even though great things are happening and I'm pursuing something I've wanted to do for a long time. So good luck for both of us, and a virtual hug and a high five from over on this side of the pond x
ReplyDeleteAnother person going through the same thing! Well i am glad i am not the only one trying to reach what they want! We can do this eleni!!! Good luck too sweetie and another high five to you too!! Xoxoxo
DeleteI think what you're doing is so awesome. I've never really known a tattoo artist before but the process is fascinating to me. It's such a challenge and I'm so impresses by how hard you've been working. you inspire me to work harder too. keep it up girl!!!!
ReplyDeleteoh how i get you with pretty much everything here cb. i've felt the same way and it's tough at times to balance certain aspects out the way you'd like. you're doing a great job! right on with keeping your touch-stone pals close by, this makes life that much more dealable. girl, there's a ton of folks who haven't even got a clue what their passion is, let alone how to reach it. you've got that nailed in tight, well done! keep going, you're rocking this journey to its core. blessings. xo ♥
ReplyDeleteI understand how you feel, am a bit overwhelmed myself at the moment with my business, but its so exciting as well! I know you will succeed in everything you want to do, you've got the talent and ambition! Good luck sweetie!

I totally understand how you feel - it's tough to feel frustrated and overwhelmed and at times to not be able to fix it right away. I'm so glad that you have such wonderful and supportive people in your life to help you through these times - I know that nothing helps me like a good talk with my mom and dad and Jim. I hope that things get better - and I can't forget to mention what a gorgeous picture that is!
ReplyDeleteXO
sweetheart, what you're doing is amazing, not only are you following your dreams (and it's so wonderful that you have such great support from those guys in the tattoo shop) but you're also still doing your day job, and doing all those day to day things we all have to do.
ReplyDeleteYou are wonderful and deserve everything good that life can bring you. I know it can be overwhelming, especially when there isn't enough time in the day (& I definitely know that feeling of just wanting to crash after work), but it'll all be worth it to reach that place where you're heading, and to have such a wonderful support network is so important.
You are my inspiration, and as always I'm wishing you every bit of luck and strength, remember, you are amazing! xox
