a different kind of snail mail....
hi! a bit ago my buddy, future band mate & roller rink/ bar co-owner, alicia from so paurve asked if anyone wanted to be her pen pal and i of course signed up! i told her i wasn't super great at being a pen pal, i actually really hate writing because as i write my handwriting gets less and less legible so i told her to make up for it i would send her special hand made drawings in the form of a post card....this was the first one!
i have a couple more roughly sketched out and will show you once they are complete and sent out! sending mail out has never been so fun!

citybirds chirp: so pauvre
hi everyone! welcome to another wonderful citybirds chirps and i am oh so happy to introduce to you the WONDERFUL and OH SO CUTE alicia from so pauvre! i am so happy that we have become fast blogging buddies and i find her witty humor just so freakin' hilarious! if we lived closer to each other we would hang out all the time, drink margaritas in her child size inflatable pool, roller skate till we dropped and eat square shaped marshmallows till our tummies burst! okay... without further ado.... take it away!!!
hello friends of city bird's nest! i'm alicia and cb has invited me to chirp about my blog. (thanks cb!) it's called so pauvre and i like it a lot. i hope you will too!
i started writing so pauvre in late 2007 and since then my little blog has evolved from a series of tongue-in-cheek money saving tips to help me cope with being out of college and hilariously broke, to an every day account of the good, the bad, and the ugly of my farcical life. i'm still hilariously broke, but that's a different story for a different day.
in september 2010 i moved from southern ontario, canada to eastern pennsylavania in order to marry my adorable husband. over the past year our ridiculous adventures in immigration and american splendor have been chronicled on so pauvre, but don't worry, it's not over yet! do you have official government paperwork referring to you as an alien? because i do. $2000+ worth of paperwork to be exact. (HILARIOUSLY BROKE.)
oh, i also bake cupcakes! i have an imaginary company called trophy wife cupcakes and recently won my first bake-off! what's your favourite cupcake flavour? i like any kind with sprinkles!
my favourite thing about writing so pauvre is connecting with my readers and fellow bloggers. that's how i met cb - and as i'm sure you already know she's absolutely lovely, so everybody wins!
i hope that you enjoyed my little chrip! (seriously, how adorable is cb?) if you did, you should come visit me over at so pauvre. i've got chips and dip, a full bottle of gin, and my so-called life on DVD. see you there!
