since i love color so much i wanted to make my shop stand out so i used one of our yellow bed sheets as the table cloth and my vintage floral suitcase as a prop for my bike embroideries. i was a little nervous about selling them as this was the first time bringing them and i was really satisfied with the feed back and comments that customers gave me. it felt really good to be rewarded for all the hard work i have put in these last few months and validation that my work is appreciated.
damn you camera cord!!!!!!!! |
each year that i have done this show i learn something new and i always improve each year. i think the reason it was a success this year was the great visibly of my table and price point too. i know what to bring next year and what not to and then maybe trying another new craft out and see how that works too.
everything that didn't sell will be up in my shop next weekend. if you see anything you want as a present just know that i mail everything out expedited which is typically 2-4 days depending where it is being shipped.
i want to thank every one that stopped by and helped support citybirds, i am so grateful and humbled as an artist. i had two customers that came up to me that had purchased my items in previous years and it was great to receive their sincere compliments. i also want to thank all of you amazing readers for being such a great support for me and for that i am offering a giveaway open to all my readers as a thank you....just simply leave a comment stating why you love buying handmade :) and you could be a winner of of these cute red owl & white leather earrings! entry ends monday dec. 13th
so you ask what is next for this crafter? well i have tons of presents to make which i am excited about as i am trying out two new items which i can't mention as my friends and family read my blog and i don't want to spoil their presents, so after x-mas i will show pictures and diy's for making them!
many thanks again!

congrats on a successful show! and i love buying handmade because while i try and try to make my own things, i know how much hard work and time it takes, so i love to support others who have the drive to do it more than i do!!!

WOOOO!!!! So glad it was a success! I love buying handmade because I know the exact source of what I'm getting. It gives things more personality when you know who made it (rather than a factory employing underpaid workers)
ReplyDeleteadorable! glad to hear it went well.
ReplyDeleteI love to buy handmade because... I love supporting artists and also getting unique gifts that could not be found elsewhere.

ReplyDeleteI love buying handmade because it supports local, small business artists, and you always get something so unique! :)
Goodness I would love those earrings :D
ReplyDeleteI love buying handmade because of the quality, care, and effort put into each piece! I grew up wearing clothes my mom made me, and since then i've had a deep love for things you know where made just FOR YOU <3
your table came out so pretty (I knew it would). I have got to find a craft fair near me, i love handmade items, so much more loved
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad everything was a success, though why wouldn't it be? All your pieces are adorable and I'd have snapped them all up, right away! x
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the craft fair! I hope to be a part of it next time. How could I not after hearing how much fun it was!

A big congratulations to you! Everything looks so amazing, and I don't know what I love more the owl earrings, the bikes, or your totally awesome branding/merchandising!! The logo on the earrings is my absolute favorite I think! I love it all!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, now as to why I love to buy handmade... how could you not, right? I love the fact that someone put love and effort into an item, I love that buying handmade supports both established and up-and-coming artists, and I love feeling as though I am part of bigger community of fellow crafters and artists. My goodness, apparently I am feeling long winded tonight! ;) But seriously, everything looked so great, congrats again!

I'm so pleased it went so well for you. Your stall looks AMAZING (wish I could have been there!) as do all your lovely crafts as ever. You're right, the bright yellow really draws you in.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about handmade - the time & effort that the artist puts into each item, the inspiration you get from a piece of work, the knowledge that (hopefully) you're helping/supporting that person to continue to produce their art, and knowing that what you have is unique.
Bravo again, you rock! xoxox
I love buying handmade because of the imperfections. It shows how much effort was put into the design and that it is one of a kind. It's the imperfections that make them more beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI just read your comment over at 'A Beautiful Mess' about someone making the 'that's too expensive' comment at your craft fair. I, too, just did a craft fair (my first!) last weekend...and luckily I only got one of those comments, but sheesh! Why can't people keep their mouths shut?!
ReplyDeleteAnywho, just wanted to show a little solidarity with a fellow crafty gal! :)
congratulations! so glad your sale went well!
ReplyDeleteyour display is BEAUtiful!
Hooray!!! Your table setup looks great, glad it was a big success!
ReplyDeletecute stuff! love the owl earrings!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, i'm so out of the loop! I'm like a last minute comment here ;) I love the earrings, so cute!
ReplyDeletehandmade things are always original and one of a kind, it's great to have things in your closet that no one else does!
