the mister took great advantage of the weather and took part in a 120 mile brevet which is a french style long distance self supported bicycle ride. each rider has to rely on him or herself if a tire blows out, water, food and making the check points. riders have 13.5 hours to complete the course which was from the golden gate bridge to point reyes light house and then back. the mister completed the course in 11 hours and i am just so so proud of him!! i am in awe of his bike riding awesomeness! you're amazing babe!
in other news i finished some more bike hats! here is one i made out of a really awesome fabric i bought from stonemountain's daughter.
the mister bought me some wool pendeltons from the thrift store and i started taking each panel apart and made a hat for the mister...with the sleeve cuffs i made two hair bows which when i have more i will update my shop!
i had to model it cause the mister was too camera shy |
each time i make a hat i keep getting better and better at it and that makes me smile...there is such a great satisfaction in making something and have it turn out great! i think i will submit both the hat & bows to miss elsie's project restyle!
has anyone submitted anything yet?
xo,
cb

Whoa, seriously awesome hats and fabrics!
ReplyDeletehow awesome, I am so impressed that you can take apart a garment and turn it into something completely different. I personally do not enjoy sewing, so i won't be participating in project restyle, but will live vicariously through those who do.
ReplyDeletewoah. so rad. how do you make the hat??
ReplyDeleteI forgot to get back to you on the bike shop thing in Portland. I don't really know of any personally, sorry!
