bike update!

a quick post today...i wanted to share with you the process of putting "white lightening" together so here is the first round.

here is the before picture...we just put these wheels on her so that she wasn't resting on her frame....

and here she is with her brand spanking new wheels. these are 650b wheels that are a size smaller then standard 700c wheels and they have the brown sidewalls that make her look more retro :D. i wanted room for a fatter tire so we went down a size. the mister added the handle bars but they won't stay...they are just there so that we can see what it looks like. also peeled off the soma sticker which i wasn't crazy about....
she is getting fancier and fancier every second. we ordered a rack, fenders and cranks which will go on next!
so i am leaning toward a girls name that starts with a g... here is my list...

*gertrude
* georgia
* gracey

but then i do love
* darlene
*dorothy

i can't wait for the first ride so that i can lock down her name!

i'll be back tonight with another quick post! a sneak peak :D

  7. Yeah I have to say, I like Gertrude too!
    So I saw this, this evening and immediately thought, if there's one person I show this to in the whole world, it has to be Cristie. Enjoy. =]

  9. i love those wheels, they are really good on the road. do you know what kind of handle bars you would like for her? for a name i like gracey because she will be graceful looking and riding.

    I'm impartial though... I've been watching a lot of early Roseanne episodes lately.

  14. darlene used to be my favorite favorite name when I was a kid... every short story I wrote featured a girl named darlene! my family thought it was really odd and funny, since it is a little bit of a weird name.
