wheelin' and deallin'

happy monday everyone! hope you all had a great weekend!

this saturday was my alma mater's annual spring fair so the mister and i woke up bright and early saturday morning and headed over to oakland which is a couple cities north. we got there early, snagged a table and a couple of chairs and set up.

***the pictures that came from this roll came out really cool and we have no idea how it got that nice glow, if anyone cares to show we would love it!***

  my shits glow-ing!!!!

i always like taking pictures of my display so that i can review it and see how i can improve. plus it is a chance for me to step back and look at the overall presentation of it. it is hard to do it while at the fair as i am always nervous and have things to do before the crowd comes.

well it wasn't the greatest turn-out but sometimes you win some and some times you lose some. i didn't do horrible but i didn't do great. the spring fair is never a huge haul but it is always great to have the experience and get your name out there. we sat next to the jazz band that was playing which was really nice...the mister and i wiggled and snapped along to the music while sitting in our seats :D

after the fair, i dropped some owls earrings off at one of the local shops i sell at and then hit up the neighborhood thrift store. i was really excited to find a pair of black boots that i have been dying to find! they are gonna replace my doc martins which i will add to my shop when i have a moment.

i also found this pocket watch at the thrift store that has an engraving of a ship, i LOVE IT!! i had the perfect chain for it too, yay!

the rest of weekend was full of weed pulling and sewing, sewing, sewing!

how was your weekend?

  2. I agree - your display looks so sweet! The suitcase is so cute. Happy to hear that you did OK - sometimes those fairs can be very disappointing. A lot of the time people just come do "window" shopping. And sounds like your great thrift finds compensated? ;)

  6. I totally know how you feel. I always feel that way about my cake stall, so, so nervous when i fist set up that no one is going to buy anything. It usually turns out well though. Your stall looks lovely too! x

  13. HAHA You look so pouty at the table!
You can get a glow in the areas of the picture that are white if the image was overexposed, but yours isn't...if you were in my class, I would call it a "happy little accident!" because i don't know why it happened!! LOL

  15. Looks like you had a great time. I know how events like that can be hit or miss. Your display table looks pretty sweet, I see you love yellow. I'm sure it was nice to sit outside and enjoy jazz sounds like you had a great weekend.

P.S. about the train situation...I've done that before...just absentminded walking on to a train and then realizing it was headed in the wrong direction. Glad you got back to Greenpoint okay :)

  20. My weekend was really good too :) LOts of sunshine! I always take a picture of my display table as well so I can get ideas of how to better it. I guess it's just a reality that sometimes you just won't do that well. But then when you do AMAZING it kind of makes up for everything :D Have fun sewing!
