being grey didn't ruin our day!

hi ya'll! first i want to thank you all for the wonderful compliments on the bike jersey i made. you don't know what a wonderful boost of confidence it gave me! thank you thank you!

so the weather here as been less then desirable and it has been off again on again rain. it was unpredictable to say the least..so the mister and i weren't sure if it was going to rain for the bike party so instead of wasting the day we took advantage of it not raining and took gilbert out for a nice ride to sausalito which is north of san francisco.

i was pretty pumped and really excited about my biking outfit as i mentioned before it can be really hard to find bike clothes that are cute. i mean it doesn't matter really what i look like when i go on long bike rides but i want to be comfortable in what i am wearing so in a way it does matter :)

i decided to rock this little jumper to hide the ugly spandex butt pads and of course wore my favorite bike hat that i made a while back! i actually got a compliment on it while we were out that day and boy did i get SUPER excited about that! this is one that i will have up in my bike shop when it opens :D

we headed out to bart and got off in sf and made our way out to crissy fields which takes us up to the golden gate bridge which is my least favorite part of the ride. the bike path on the bridge is closed due to construction so we had to ride on the pedestrian side which can be really frustrating but we made it!

it was a really beautiful day despite the sun not really coming out to play. the mister looks so cute with his chambray button shirt, he likes to ride in style too! eek he is so cute!

the view of sf from sausalito
once we got in beautiful sausalito we were hungry so we made a refueling pit stop at an AMAZING restaurant called cibo where we both had an espresso, i LOVE the tiny cups they come in! and the most DELICIOUS steak and egg panini!

we headed out a bit further and then it started to sprinkle so we decided to head home. it was such a great workout and it was really nice to go on a bike date together. in october we will be doing a 72 mile bike ride that goes along the same route that we did that day. it was a little prep to see how well we would do going up the huge hills on the tandem and we passed with flying colors!

i am very thankful i packed this blue riding jacket..i love the color but it is a bit big so i will taking it in and then adding some cute patches on the sides to hide the hideous graphics...i am also SOO grateful for the leg warmers...yes people i am wearing leg warmers in JUNE! crazy yes, but they kept my knees warm which is really important while riding and i actually think the entire outfit with all it's craziness is actually pretty cute! and i will for sure wear it again hopefully minus the jacket and the leg warmers! come on warm summer, i'm ready for you!!!!

First I need a bike! Suggestions!? :) I should scan your archives for tips.

  10. Can we talk about your red toms? Favorite! That sounds like a glorious ride! Congrats on making it with the pedestrian side frustration! And what a yummy pit stop! Looks like you'll be ready for your big ride really soon!

  12. i think your biking outfit is cute too and your hat well its awesome! Is it weird that when I order espresso I always want it to come in a regular size mug..i mean its fine if they still put the same amount in a larger cup but come on do we really need these tiny cups hanging around. Who am I, alice in wonderland? That was weird rant even for me
