well a while back tom and i cleaned out our dinky little closet and we were getting rid of unwanted clothes and he was going to get rid of this really cute buffalo shirt that i adored! sadly it was waaay too big for me, way too long, the sleeves were saggy and i always like a good tee to be a bit snug around my torso....so it got me thinking....i can totally fix this!
first i measured myself and with chalk started putting my cut lines on the shirt keeping in mind the seams. then i got to cutting and sewing. as you all know i am a HUGE fan of collars aaaand peter pan collars are my favorite so i had to add one to this guy to make it that extra bit of girlie cuteness.
i found a tutorial on line (this one was great and i LOVE the shape of the collar too), used some old black fabric i had laying around and got to cutting and sewing and my too big buffalo shirt became.....
also check out this lovely on shannon's blog! so cute!!
craft on...

soooo cuuuuute! the collar is such a great idea! :D that ball jar bottle deal is also pretty sweet. i should really be more productive instead of painting my toenails and watching netflix at 3:52 am... :S
ReplyDeleteNice work! I have also found an old men's t-shirt that I need to adjust - which seams did you trim/re-sew? My instincts are telling me it should be both side seams and maybe along the bottom/underside of the sleeves, but I don't want to mess it up!
ReplyDeletewhoa! I love it! I love having big shirts resized to fit me, but thats an awesome idea.
ReplyDeleteawesome job!! It looks so awesome and I LOVE peter pan collars too. You're so crafty, love it!
ReplyDeletewhat a awesome idea!! now i can steal all of shane's tshirts i like!!
ReplyDeleteWay to cute up that t-shirt, love it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea. I like my shirts to be more fitting than any of the mister's would be on me. But there are a few shirts of his I love that don't fit him anymore. Might have to try this out as soon as I get my machine set up!
ReplyDeletethat's a great idea! especially for when you find super cute tees at the thrift that are way tooo huge!! great diy!
ReplyDeletePRESH!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNeat! I always have that problem with t-shirts, and then they become pajamas rather than something I would wear outside the house... haha.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a unique and cool style! And such great ideas! I need to do a craft project soon, haven't done it for ages!
