what i wore: after the storm

awww mid week. feels so nice knowing that today is my friday.

i wore this to work last saturday. it didn't rain that day but it was SUPER windy. i rode my bike all the way to the train in my highest gear which is reserved for hill climbing. at one point i felt like i could have walked faster.

i love this sweater so much and finally figured out how to wear it properly. since it doesn't have buttons or anything to secure it, it sometimes feels cape like. belting it really made a difference.
i got my leather backpack at the thrift store this weekend and i am not sure about it yet. i am having my yellow pannier fixed by celeste's mom. i really like the color and how small it is but since i am totting around my HUGE hardcover game of thrones book it doesn't leave much room for much else.
sporting my black triple triangle necklace i made for myself. i tried to add a pop of color as i have a hard time leaving the house in all neutrals so i threw on a bright orange lipstick. my ears have been a bit sensitive since i slept with earrings on so they are irritated at the moment. otherwise i would have worn a pair of bright orange studs i bought the other day.

  1. I forget what movie I am quoting, but the line goes something like... "love the sweater, love the bag, love the shoes.... love you." I pretty much feel that way right now... I have severe sweater envy! That sweater is FANTASTIC! I love how you styled this look.

I like the orange lipstick. I think bright lip colors are very classic and sexy, without being too drastic.

    Enjoy your days off!

    1. i think i might be obsessed with orange....i just bought a orange nail polish and it matches my studs EXACTLY! i think i might need to do a whole orange accessory post or something.

i made that necklace for the shop but couldn't part with it so it is all mine! i have two others up in the shop that are green & red. i would love to one day sell my stuff at anthro or uo!

  10. ARGH! I have been hunting for a leather rucksack for months! I carry a normal rucksack, but it's a bit too big for my everyday needs and it makes me look like a student.

  12. the belt works perfectly with the cardi and I actually really like the backpack. Game of Thrones is certainly worth a little discomfort. I cant wait till I finish book 4. I caught myself skimming pages yesterday. Its just not the same without Jon.

  17. love the cardi - I know what you mean about trying to figure the best way to wear something, it looks fab with the belt. Hope you have a wonderful weekend sweetie.

PS Mum & Dad had a great first day in San Francisco - went on a long trip around the city & Mum was heading for the gorgeous Cathedral later; she cried when she walked on the Golden Gate Bridge as her uncle helped to build it so it was very special for her. Today they're on a trip to Alcatraz (hope they let them out, ha ha). xox

  22. aww you look adorable, such a great outfit for riding- way to go biking up that hill! Def a good thrift find on that backpack but I know what you mean.. esp when biking it gets a little tricky, I want a basket for this very reason. Sounds wonderful having a half week :)

    1. having a basket is great but at the moment i can't have one, it makes the back of the bike soo heavy and communting everyday i have to lift my bike up 3 flights of stairs and it gets tiring after awhile :)
