fun with fam and thrifting

happy wednesday peaches! in my last post i mentioned i would share with you my treasures that we found while thrifting with kelly-anne this weekend but first i want to show you how gansta we are! hehe.
if you have a friend with a kinect be sure to invite yourself over as often as you can....so.much.fun! who doesn't like shakin' their rump to hip old school songs in the comfort of your own home?
hanging with my boys
we spent a good chunk of the day visiting various thrift stores and it was crazy how much we scored. the back of the trunk was full of bags of goodies, it was amazing! here are a few things i walked away with...
some super cute and not to mention comfy fabric slip ons. they make my feet so so happy :)
my eagle eye spotted this dolly parton album from across the room and i knew we needed to add it to our ever growing collection. isn't she just the most adorable? who doesn't love big hair, high-waisted jeans and a little bit of country twang?
my brother-in-law spotted this little roadrunner made from sand for us. it goes perfectly with our roadrunner plate we got in mexico a year ago. best brother-in-law, ever!!
i also scored this sweet vest! the pattern and colors are amazing! a tad too big but i have plans to fix it and i can't wait!
yes, yes, the cat is kinda a creepy but that is the whole lure of it!
lastly i scored this amazing find! now the nerd in my couldn't get over how exciting this find was and i hope someone out there can appreciate it too. what is this you ask well....it is a mystery puzzle! COOL RIGHT?!?!?! it comes with a little booklet and the puzzle has hidden clues to help solve the mystery! brilliant! i can't wait for a rainy day so i can get my sherlock holmes on!

we had such a blast that day and we hope to be up again to go on another thrifting adventure! any amazing finds lately? any nerdy ones i should know about?hehe

  2. What a cute post!! Firstly I love the photo of you kinecting it up! :) Secondly, how cute is Dolly on that record cover? I adore old covers, they were so much more fun and innocent compared to today. Thirdly, that vest looks almost like the background of your blog! And fourthly (is that a word) that's so sweet you're all excited about your mystery puzzle! Have fun girl!

  8. I just came back from thrift shopping myself! It's an adventure every time. So fun! Just Dance is only the BEST EVER GAME I've ever played. I just got a Kinect for Christmas and my sister comes over at least once a week to play. It's a blast!!! Glad to see there's more people jumping on that bandwagon ;)

  9. i've scored some good things lately, but have yet to document them. that trivial pursuit you're holding up there? we had that one while i was growing up, i used to take the box of cards & read them on road trips. needless to say, my family hated playing the actual game with me :)

    1. oh yea that is trivial pursuit! we didn't have one so we picked it up along with my mystery puzzle. we played yesterday and some of the questions are soo hard! since it is old some of the questions are outdated and all the entertainment are about movies that we have never heard of before! still really fun and we learned a lot!

  15. what a sweet stop off after a long day of work! seeing you girls and those awesome smiles...not to mention all the thrifting goodness. well i'm set off with mad love. feline Pharaoh!!!!!!! can't quite get over that one, it's epic. kinect is SO getting researched - awesome how Dolly could have almost been inserted right beside you girls ;)

looks like one hell of a fun day, one i wish i could jump inside with you all!!

i'm super sorry for taking my time-out literally & not visiting sooner! after receiving your comment, which was out of this world amazing to read, i really should have at least sent you something back right away. thank you for the sweetest message ever and for being so understanding about my motion towards dropping the veil down a bit more to expose "things". i am hanging in and on - your feedback + prop ups was sweet solace!!! you didn't hurt my feelings at all, completely the opposite. i was thrilled you thought i was in the same age group as you, totally made my day. xo ♥

  16. Learning how to sew (some day) is going to open the thrifting world for me. Like that vest you found - it's really awesome that even if it doesn't fit, you can make it into something that does (or something else entirely).

  17. hahaha that puzzle looks pretty interesting...but then again I like anything with cats involved. I freakin LOVE that vest! Can't wait to see how you wear it. I have to say, not a big fan on Dolly's music. Something about her voice just makes my insides flop around and I really can't stand it. Her as a person though, I think she's awesome. She's done a lot of really great things in her lifetime, and those high waisted pants ARE pretty cool :)
