there is always friday

when things don't work out the way you think, always make the best of it. tuesday i was totally pumped to lay by the lake and soak up a little sun. after 6 days of work, i needed to be a slug in the sun and read a book but by the time tom got home from work and we got out act together it was too late, the lake was closed :( so instead of heading home and being sad, tom suggest we grab an iced coffee and head to eco thrift to see what treasures awaited us.
found a new embroidery to add to our wall and i thought the hand painted boat would look great in our "man lair", aka reading nook.
i was super excited about the bathing suit i found, it looks exactly like the jcrew full bathing suit i already have but i just couldn't resist buying it. plus it was $5 and it has plastic bra cups! yea, so sweet. the shoes i was super stoked to find because i have the worst luck finding shoes while thrifting. the cute ones are always size 6 so when i saw that they were my size, and they fit and looked so cute, did a little wiggle in the aisle, thanks thrifting god for lifting my spirits :D

friday we both have the day off, so we will be visiting the lake then and basking in all it's glory!
friday, i know you are only one day away but if you could some how get here magically sooner, i would love you for the rest of my days. please and thank you.

  4. well I am glad the thrifting gods were shining on you that day cause you needed a little pick me up after that long of a work week. I get tired just thinking about it. So the new plan is for us to travel to the pink lake (yes you can swim in it but the salt content is super super high so really you just float). You will bring your plastic cup bra suit and I'll bring my lovely personality and it will the best time eva!

    1. i know the bathing suit being $5 was crazy! i was stunned actually because that thrift store tends to be a bit more expensive. it could have easily been $15 bucks if they wanted it to be. thank goodness it wasn't!

  6. Plastic cups? What's the comfort level on those?

    1. it isn't so bad, it is a softer plastic but still kinda weird and will take me a bit to get used to it.

  7. Where are your white shorts from? I love them! Back when I was skinny I loved wearing high-waisted shorts, but I'll have to wait till after baby comes to squeeze back into them. They look really good on you!!

I think that's super sweet that Tom suggested you go thrifting. Thrifting is not something Tyson enjoys doing so it has to be a very special occasion for him to go with me! LOL Way to go Tom!! :)

  9. It's a bummer you didn't get to go to the lake, but relaxing and thrifting is just as good, too!

I have to try very hard to see the silver lining of everything, but it really does help in the long run to just smile and go with the flow.

Hope you got to rest after working so much!

  13. That bathing suit is so awesome! What a great find! I totally have that same yellow embroidered house :) It's funny you say all the cute shoes at the thrift store are size 6 because that's what I wear and I feel like I have the worst luck at thrifting shoes! I love your outfit- the white shorts looks so cute on you, and I always love when you take pics with your amazing bug! Have a great weekend!!
