yummy food, yummy beer, yummy, yummy!

i think everyday should be a food festival, is that too much to ask? i mean really. friday was a spectacular day. it truly was. we slept in, made some grits for breakfast and then headed over to the eat real food festival.
kelly-anne, julie......we need to go there and eat again!!!
yes please! how amazing is this idea!!
love that they used a shipping container, so wise.
you also get to keep the mason jar!
first thing we did was scope out what was available. there were tons of stalls and i plan on buying that mushroom kit because mushrooms are my most favorite! there were sooo many yummy options but we weeded out the food trucks that we had already eaten at. once we did that we made a bee line to the beer and wine stalls to get ourselves some beer!
no, those are not boogers,. its my septum, retainer, which is actually no more, i got a hoop put in!
**love**
best damn gyro i have ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth hole. ooh mama, that sounds dirty! hehe
you canadians.....genius!
so happy, so full
we made sure to bring a blanket so that we could enjoy ourselves and relax in the warm sun and listen to the band play some great tunes. finally, we got hungry or should i say, we needed to soak up some of the booze we were drinking, so we headed to a stall called the whole beast and got a lamb gyro (holy shit, so good!) and lamb poutine (them canadians really know how to eat french fries! alicia, i have a new love for your home land!!!!! lamb gravy on everything!!!!!!)
after filling up on the most delicious food, i needed to satisfy my sweet tooth, so we packed up and got some ice cream. coffee flavored, booyah! a great way to end a food festival, although i think i could have eaten, like 10 more scoops of that ice cream. sooo good.

what were you up to this weekend?

on life lately..

happy friday, yay! we made it. today is my day off, yippeee! tom and i will be attending a food festival filled with yummy hand crafted beers and amazing food trucks. more on that later. life lately, has felt like a whirlwind. i feel in control of where life is taking me however there is a slight current that is taking me for a ride and i am enjoying it. it is a strange feeling to not be fully in control but right now i am okay with that and like i have mentioned before i am taking each day as it comes, step by step.

it brings me to this....i want my blog to be a place for me to share and that is exactly what it has been and always will be. i love sharing bits of my life, my creative side, my adventures and just recently my journey to becoming a tattoo artist. i love it; all the wonderful positive feedback and all the wonderful connections i am making, it makes my insides happy. this is a great place. however since i have had a crazy yet wonderful schedule, sometimes posting has felt a bit more like an obligation and i don't like that feeling nor do i want it to be felt through my posts. i like being excited about things and having that shine through my pictures and words. so for now i am letting that feeling disappear, i will post when i want and not feel like i must post on monday or have a set schedule. things may change around here, they may not but it feels good to have it be spoken out loud. i know lots of people feel this way and now it is my time. i am not going anywhere and have no plans to, i love this place too much to leave it and i will be for sure, stalking, i mean, reading all my favorite blogs. i just opened an instagram and you can follow me there!

have a great weekend everyone and live life to its fullest! till monday :)

eat real + awesome company = good times

this saturday we went to the eat real food festival. we didn't ride our bikes which was a shame but i will go on a bike adventure next weekend with the mister! maybe two...we have one planned for friday after work but i am thinking we should also do one on saturday...gotta get on that! anyways my friend, who i visited in boston was in town so she came over for some waffles with bananas...super yummy! her knee hurt as well as the misters so we opted to just drive there.
man was it busy when we got there...we arrived around 11:30 and went straight to the drink ticket line to get some beer tickets and our very own mason jar :) we swam through the hundreds of people to find the beer stand...there were so many beers to choose from but i know my favorites...either a stout or porter for me!!! i tried the eel river stout which was yummy! after we got our drinks we found a little place on the grass and sat in the sun and listened to the dj....we stayed there the entire time...the view was great...so many people to watch which is favorite past time...

i love the reflection in my glasses :)

a cute little folk group was up next...they reminded my of a singer from the 60's called melanie...check her out if you don't know her...she is pretty great!

then walked around to get some food....tacos!!! really yummy and then went to try out the porter which was by far my favorite!

we were out of drink tickets so we packed it in and on our way out got in line at the strauss ice cream line. it was the longest line we sat in which ended up not being so bad but boy was it worth it!! i got a double scoop with brown sugar banana and the other scoop was dutch chocolate. i need to find were they sell it because the brown sugar ice cream was the business!! after that we headed home and the mister and i made the best bbq lamb and veggies ever! saturday was a continuous gourmet meal :D

hope you all had a great weekend! it was so nice to hang out with my two favorite people and just shoot the shit :D

4 simple goals update: finished one of my craft projects, yay!!! vintage fabric necklaces!! when i have a spare moment will take some photos to share! also started my next project ....embroidery!!
