painted owl diy!

happy thursday peaches! yesterday, i had the day off and worked my butt off in the garden for a good majority of the day weeding & replanting some succulents. i love rearranging the front porch and i had gotten this little guy a while ago at the thrift store and just wasn't feeling the terra cotta color.... so i painted it to spruce it up!

here is what you need!
1. acrylic paint
2. varnish
3. brush
4. butcher paper (not shown)
5. paper plate for mixing paint (not shown)

 step one.
wash your pot to make sure dirt is gone, scrub if you have to, this guy was dirty! and then let dry

step two
mix your paint to your desired color. i choose orange cause it is one of my favorite colors and i wanted to add a little pop to the deck!

step three
paint your pot and do at least 2 coats. let dry about an hour between each coat

step four
apply a coat of varnish and let sit about 3 hours and then.....

tada!!!!!!!! you have yourself a brand new super cute owl pot with a succulent growing out of its head! hehe  plus you didn't have to unload a bunch of cash to make it either. i am super happy with the result :)

p.s. stay tuned tomorrow for a citybirds chirp!
