what i wore: my lottas!!!!

hiya everyone! this week has been a long one so far, gatherings with friends and wrapping up a few projects for some lovely ladies which i will share later :)

for christmas i bought myself a little present, a pair of shoes i have been drooling over for, oh about 2 years now...lotta's from stockholm! it took them a very long to finally reach my loving arms but it was well worth it! they are just AMAZING and every bit as beautiful as i thought they would be!
i have been wearing them like crazy ever since i got them. they go with literally everything in my closet. i often get in fits where i am so uninspired by my clothes but these shoes have opened up a plethora of combinations. i love how retro they look and they look great with both skirts and pants.
i wore this outfit to work. i realized after looking at these pictures that i wear this new backpack of mine soooooo low and loose, it looks kinda ridiculous! i haven't worn a backpack in so long, i guess, oh well!
this is a go too outfit for me. black cardigan, my upcycled lace peter pan shirt (which you can get a better view of here) and my leopard print high waisted skirt. after taking these picture bright & early it realized you can barely see what i am wearing which is okay because the shoes are what really matter to me! hehe they take a bit to get used to for riding but are super comfy to ride in and i think a bit sexy too. i just love adding a pop of red to all my outfits. i apologize in advance if you see these shoes a lot in the posts to come :)

what shoes are you lusting over?

diy part 3: lace earrings

hello! today is the final wrap of my 3 part diy project! i didn't have much lace left over so i had to think of something small to make with what i had left. i have always wanted lace earrings but just have never gotten around to buying a pair so today i am here to who you how to make a cute pair of retro inspired lace earrings with a little pop of color!

here is what you need:

1. scrap of fabric, just enough to make 4 small circles
2. lace scraps
3. earring hoops
4. hoops
6. needle & thread
7. a knitting needle (not pictured)

step 1.
fold your scrap fabric in half and place lace on top. two circles that are about 1/4 inch larger then your lace. cut out and pin

 step 2.
sew a 1/4 seam, leaving a 1 inch gap at the top.

step 3 &4
turn circle inside out. this is where the knitting needle comes in handy. use the needle to make sure that the fabric is fully inside out.

step 5
next iron, to make your little circle pouch flat and pretty :D

 step 6&7
fold the top of the pouch inside and sew top closed. hide or cut any exposed thread. then sew on your lace flower (sorry i didn't take a picture of this!) then open up one of your hoops and poke a hole through the fabric and lace, i used a embroidery needle to make a bigger hole for the hoop to fit through.
the earring hoops i use don't require anything just to slip the hoop onto the hook part and you are done!

these will look perfect with my mustard colored dress!!

tomorrow is my first sew september update, yahooo!!! also check out an interview i did over at kate's irrelevant! thanks lady for the interview, it was so much fun! EDITORS NOTE: fyi i did a horrible job editing and somethings didn't come out right, eek! hehe like, i dont have a rhyme somewhere hidden in my bones that magical moves me,  that would be weird, i meant to say rhythm.  also i kinda feel like i dodged the music question a bit. so here are a quick top five bands that i like:
1) marina in the diamonds
2) led zeppelin
3) queen
4) prince
5) stevie wonder

aahh okay that feels better, i got it out in the open. thanks again kate.
