hope you all had a great weekend! our weekend was great except that sunday it rained!?! it was a beautiful day saturday and we had a date to go to the ashby flea market in berkeley. we always ride through meek park to get to bart and they were a having a dia de los muertos festival so we walked around a bit and looked at the booths. there were some great artists there with amazing dia de los muertos art.
after our stroll around we headed to bart and got off a stop before to visit one of our favorite bike shops called manifesto and then rode out to the ashby bart. the flea market there is small but they have great stuff and a diverse crowd. there is always a drum circle near the entrance of bart which is always very entertaining :)
right off the back the mister found this AMAZING wwII navy pea coat with gold quilting in the inside and cordory lined pockets. he looks oh so cute in it. he needed to good jacket for the winter and we got such a great deal for it too!
the next stall over a women was selling hand made jewelry, dresses & skirts. i can't resist pattern and i loved this skirt and pair of cloth earrings! anything with a great pattern and bright colors is hard for me to say no too..she had a couple that were oh so awesome but couldn't afford of them all so i went with these babies...they are so amazing!! next to her stall i found this great bird book. i have always wanted one to reference while drawing...it has some great illustrations!
found two white ceramic owls and i put them on either side of the bathroom sink...more owls for my "owl room" hehe...
one thing i didn't get while in mexico was a embroidered dress...i was a little bummed but they can be really expensive even if you barter and then i found this at one of the stalls and i just had to have it...i mean at $3 dollars that is basically free in my book. these dresses can easily sell for over $30!!
one of our lasts stops we found this AWESOME mushroom wall art, the colors were perfect for our little casa and as we were leaving a man in the drum circle stopped me and sang me a psychedelic song about my mushrooms...hard to really get the full picture but let me tell you....it was pretty interesting to say the least.
have a great and amazing monday!!!
