a sew september update!

hello peaches!
hope everyone is enjoying this fine september. i know i have! sewing has been sooo great, i really do enjoy sewing so so much. doing just a bit each day really helps me and it is helping with balancing everyday life and my crafting. my sewing machine is in the same room as the kitchen and it sits right on my desk so it is always ready to go, i love it.  i can just jump into my seat and sew while food is cooking, perfect. i am in no rush to get a bunch of stuff done, so there is no pressure. i have just been buzzing along happily and finished my first project which was tom's mexican blanket hat.

day 1
day 3
day 4
toms finished hat!
i am really happy with the way it came out and tom really really likes it which makes me so happy. he can't wait to go sweat it up :D i am almost done with my hat and will show that to you next week and then i am moving on to a few bags! if i can i will squeeze a cute diy in, i will.i have a few up my sleeve one a sewing diy and another something totally different!

for now here are some links to other ladies sew september project! and don't forget to add pictures to the sew september flickr page!

  1. cuuuuute! i'm terrible at sewing and hideously impatient which makes most projects a disaster for me. i'm glad you're having fun and making cute things! <3

  2. I can totally picture Tom in that hat, great job, it's awesome! I need to get out my sewing machine and learn to use it. My sister taught me how to set it up but we were having a lot of trouble with the tension not being right and we tried everything, time to call the manufacturer for help I guess.

  12. The hat looks sooo cute!
I would love to have such a mexican blanket, but i guess i wouldn´t be able to cut and resew it, because they are so hard to get in my area.
And your sewing place sounds so functional, i always have to stow away my sewing machine, because of space issues. you´re lucky!

i so wish i had somewhere i could leave my machine set up. it definitely stinks having to set up my machine every time i want to sew. ah, but someday it will have it's own little spot.
i'm excited to see what you'll make next. my first project is nearly complete :)
