they say it's my birthday

today at 1am i was born 29 years ago. yup, today is my birthday. i had an amazing weekend, the best birthday by far and some of the greatest friends i could ever ever ask for. i'll be back later to show the events of my weekend, right now i am still floating on cloud 9 and will be enjoying a yummy dinner with just my tommy at our favorite pub.

we are human, we have flaws, we aren't perfect and sometimes we need more then several cups of tea to actually function properly.

my weekend has begun. it is my birthday weekend (my birthday i sthis monday), it will be 4 days long and it is chuck full. i am very excited.

super silliness: a photodump!

ha! hope you all had a fantastic weekend! this weekend we celebrated kelly-anne and her husband's birthday. it was good times, super good times :) it is actually her birthday today so pop on over and wish her a very merry birthday!

so if you are ready....let me commence the silly yet oh so amazing pictures!

as i went through all our pictures there were so many opened mouth pictures! not sure what was up with that...we ended the night finishing our left over burritos and watching human centipede, luckily for me i feel asleep. i don't do well with horror films :(

the next day we all woke up super happy, well except for boz, poor guy but there is nothing like a little thrifting & super yummy locally made ice cream to chase those hangover blues away. sadly, i got skunked at the thrift store so no gems to show you today but tom scored some really cute 50's style button ups, he looks so handsome in them!

HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAY MY LOVE!! i miss you terrible already and can't wait to hang out again! lots of love.

all aboard!

 yay, we got our film back from walgreens and all is well ;) sunday was my nephews one year birthday and i was excited that it was down south which meant a bike adventure! we however had to wake up super early and boy did i want to sleep in but we got up and hit the road and took the train to sf.

we rode down the embarcadero and boy was it packed! there was a 10k run and it ended where we got off so we had to weave in & out of people. they always have cool sculptures on the water front and this rocket was new, so cool! would love to orbit the galaxy in that thing :D

we hopped on caltrain which is so easy plus they have a car just for bikes. i noticed we didn't take a picture of it but found this one. i wish all public transportation made it easy for bike riders, what a wonderful world it would be :)

i love riding trains, i grew up going on many train rides and find it is such a wonderful way to travel. you can read about my last train adventure here. the ride didn't take very long which was nice but i did take a little cat nap so that made it seem faster :)

we got to mountain view and headed out to the park. the way there was so pretty and the houses in downtown mountain view are so cute! i found myself wanting to live in so many of them!

the park was really nice and it was so much fun to see my little nephew. he is my brothers little nugget and i think he looks just like him when he was little. niko is just starting to walk and it was so much fun to watch him wobble and do a great job of holding himself up.

i love these picture of my cousin with niko. he is such a sweet little boy and i would love to kidnap him and make him mine!

it was such a nice day but very long, it was nice to sit in the sun with family and just shoot the shit. i am so happy my family is all in riding distance :)

tonight we are finishing up our packing to go camping again and i can't wait to visit one last night, so bittersweet! have a great weekend everyone, i have a happy post planned for tomorrow so stay tuned!

a golden day!

this past saturday was my birthday and i had the most excellent birthday EVER! thank you for all the sweet birthday wishes everyone!

this weekend was jam packed! friday night my job was having an art opening and it was a great way to start off the weekend! the mister joined me and hung out with my new boss, whom i just LOVE! we hopped on our bikes and went and grabbed a super late dinner and then got on bart. it was 12 o'clock when we got on bart and with all the talk about the rapture some asked whose birthday it was and a couple of us raised our hands and then the ENTIRE bart train sang happy birthday to us! it was brilliant and it made me smile from ear to ear!

early saturday morning the mister, my cousin and i went and got a yummy breakfast to start out the day right and then headed over to berkely to the golden gate fields for the horse races! in the fancy turf club we met my mom and my grandparents! i was so excited that they were able to come too!

man was the view amazing! it was so cool to be able to drink our mimosas and watch the horses race by! we had no idea what to do so we started to read the booklet they hand out about all the races. people were really friendly and helping us out. we decided to go bet for the next up coming race....

it was really simple pick a horse, how you want to bet and then how much you want to bet...then it is all up to the horse! well when i got back to my seat a realized i had put the wrong horse and i was so sad...but then the race started and everyone started yelling  and got out of their seats! we were sitting right in front of the finish line so we had a great view of the winner...when they came around the final corner, i started to get so excited, i was clapping and yelling...because my horse was coming up fast....and WON!!!!! my heart was racing with excitement, i had WON!!! i could totally see why people could get a addicted, the feeling was awesome, and i didn't even do anything, it was a total fluke! birthday luck was on my side and i was totally okay with that ;D

i went to see what my winnings were and it was a big $80!!!! WOW i have never won that much EVER! since the odds of my horse winning were so low and i had bet that he was going to win, my winnings exceeded my expectation! i was hooked! i bet for pretty much every race..but never very much, i won and then lost a few..but i was okay with my $80 win!!

one of the races we were able to go down to the field where were we got to take a picture with the winning jockey of that race! it was so cool to be so close to horses and to hear them thunder by!

we all had such a blast! we will be going back for sure!

after the races we headed out to dinner, one of my favorite cuisines, ethiopian food! oh if you have never tried it, you must!!! there are no utensils, you eat with your hands and use the bread called injera as your fork. injera is super good for you, one of the healthiest grains you can have and one of the smallest! bet you didn't know that! hehehe

after dinner we headed over to golden skate for a 3 hour skating workout! oh man it was super fun and i got to cross off something on my things to do list too! yayayayay! i felt like i was in 6th grade again, it was fantastic! the mister and i are now on a mission more then ever to find some skates! the mister was pretty good and boy did he look so cute!


we ended the day with frozen yogurt....it was a pretty golden day!! can't wait for the next one!

well since my birthday is tomorrow i thought it would be nice to do a HAPPY post and there is nothing happier then a birthday!!

i saw this chandelier floating around the blodsphere and just died! the colors of the jars are perfect together and i love the idea of upcycling!

well saturday is my big  28 and my mom is taking me to the horse tracks! i have always wanted to go and the race we will be seeing is a big one so it should be exciting! can't wait to get all dolled up and maybe win some money!!

a birthday ride!

hey everyone! hope you all had a great weekend! to kick start the weekend the mister and i headed out to the east bay bike party, which was birthday themed! we went and picked up a few supplies for the ride like....

some gold star garland for gilbert and some gold ribbon for my handle bars...we kept it pretty classy...

there weren't any birthday hats that sparked my fancy so instead i wore my gold star headband that my amazing sister in law made me...which ended up being perfect because i matched gilbert :D

oh...and don't forget the horns too! those were extra fun to blow through the silent streets of oakland/berkely!

 the ride was really nice and it was well equipped with many party festive people..one girl dressed up as a present, while others had balloons and ribbon tied to their bikes...and there was a man wearing a horse custom...of course!!!!

and then this guy who is AWESOME and hitched a small webber on the back of his bike and cooked some chicken...BRILLIANT!!!!!


it was a great way to kick off my birthday week! thanks east bay bike party!
