life lately...

hi everyone! hope everyone had a great weekend. here is what i have been up to since not working but good news, i start working again thursday!
we didnt take many pictures, shame on us but the seats were so awesome! i really wish we got a picture of the awesome couples in front of us!
>>>went to an a's game with tom thursday night! tickets were $12 for field level seats which are normally around $30-$40! super score! we were really close, the a's won and the cutest pair of die hard fans sat in front of us. they knew all the venders, the guest service people, security and the tv crew, throughout the entire game, people were giving them hugs and chatting it up with them. they have been going to every game for years and sit at the same four seats. i want to be them!

>>>many many cuddles with rosie. she has been such a cuddle bug recently! i am not sure what has gotten into her but i don't want it to end! never ever.

she was having a blast!!
clemie squirming away wanting to swim!
i love this picture of tom and i
>>> more lake time!!!!!!! invited kelly-anne and the family to the swimming lagoon and had a blast! clemie was so adorable. we ate lots of yummy food, hung out in the sun and played around in the water. good times and i can't to do it again!
>>> working on some new ideas for the shop and working on a new tattoo design.

kelly-anne got me this pin, isn't it perfect!

it could not have been better

hiya! so, friday came and it was fantastic, fantastic, i tell you!!! a while ago, tom discovered a new lake. you would never even know it existed because it is in a neighborhood at the end of the street. we road our bikes there, picked up some cherry rejuvenating power along with some nectarines and found a spot on the sand under an umbrella. thanks don castro (that is the name of the lake), for providing umbrellas, my skin thanks you.
this lake is pretty, pretty awesome. one, because it is big for being a man made swimming lagoon. two, you can actually bbq right next to the lake AND lastly, the water is heated so it isn't freezing cold, it is perfect on a hot day. it was bliss, truly bliss. we listened to some tunes, soaked up some sun, threw the tennis ball around and ate some cherries. it was perfect and when it was time to go it was soooooooo hard to leave. we are heading over there after tom gets off work today. this is my kinda place and i could easily find myself there everyday i have off. have i mentioned how perfect this lake is?
we headed home, washed up and oh gosh...we did.... we went out on the town. since moving here, we haven't really ventured out, well....because there really isn't a night life here nor any place we have wanted to go. but the a's were playing, we were hungry so we found a super awesome dive bar, ate some divey food and drank many beers. it was so fun! plus we got to watch the regulars and i met a few dudes who tattoo in the area and i will be talking to them soon and seeing if they need a shop girl! it was a fantastic day, and we have our silly town to thank for it! thanks hayward sometimes you are pretty awesome!

hot hot hot!

tom and i have been searching for a new place to go bike camping. we found one that was super close to home. they were all booked so tom and i decided that we would just ride out there and check it out. when we got of the bart train in pleasenton it was HOT, like blazing hot!! i have never applied so much sunscreen in my life and i am happy to report that it paid off, neither of us got at all burnt!!
the way there was pretty easy, lots of bike lanes (yay!!) and it was pretty much flat, or so we thought.... since it was so hot out we took a few breaks one being at this awesome little fruit stand, where we refueled on ice cold water and the yummiest yellow nectarines i haven had in a while.
to the left you can see the road going down, that is where we were coming from and we weren't half way up!
the moment we mentioned how awesome and flat the ride was, it got crazy!!!! and i mean super crazy! we were almost to the lake and the last oh, 4 miles was up hill! it was bananas and on top of that it was about 91 degrees and no shade! the road we were on was part of the tour de california which is a bike tour that just happened about a couple months ago. the part of the ride we were on is called king of the mountain which is one of the hardest rides and whoever gets to the top of the hill first wins a prize. we both kinda felt like rock stars but sweaty tired rock stars.
we got to the lake, refueled on some homemade veggie sandwiches, and of course a push pop and preceded to have a kick-ass time at the lake. the water was pretty much perfect except for a slight breeze but other then that it was awesome. we listened to npr and did a few puzzles and really really enjoyed each others company. it was flippin' fantastic and so hard to get back on gilbert because the way out was worse then the way in....yea.

it was the most fun we have had on gilbert for a while. it is always nice to find a new place to ride to and plus ending in a lake is pretty much awesome because it is such a perfect reward for busting up that huge ass hill! now i have a nice little tan, toned legs and a great memory of a truly rewarding day!

happy little things #12

our weekend was really nice. we hung out with kelly anne and the nuggets. it is one of my favorite things, just chilling and acting goofy with them. we played in the bath, got our portraits done, and swam at the pool and even made a cute little friend named payten, who was the sweetest little thing ever (she is the one with the beautiful blond curly hair and full jump suit)! i just love my little clemie-buns and how cute she looks in her swimming suit, i could cuddle her forever <3

it has been so much fun watching them both grow and become more human each time we see them. i love being an auntie and being surrounded by such cute nephews & nieces, i feel so lucky! what are your favorite moments with family?

a sunshine filled weekend

happy monday peaches! hope you all had a wonderful weekend. tom and i shared a great day together <3

the weather friday was crazy, it felt like summer, i wore shorts....crazy. we headed to the lake near our house and brought along some sandwiches and our baseball gloves.
we sat and listened to the radio for a while and soaked up some vitamin d. this radio is super awesome and i love the little retro look of it. it has a solar panel on the top so it doesn't need batteries and you just turn the crank once and it powers the little radio, cool right? i bought it for tom this last christmas and we can't wait to use it more. perfect for camping and of course picnics like this one :)
we brought along our baseball gloves and threw the ball around a bit. it is one of our favorite things to do while being lazy at the park. it was such a perfect day for it, no body was around so we had the entire place to ourselves.
tom brought his skate board and did a little skating about, im not a fan of skate boarding but it was fun to see him skate again.
on the way home, tom took me on a secret way home and he finally showed me the cactus garden he had been meaning to show me so long ago. it was pretty awesome and i am a bit jealous of their awesome set up. one day i vow to have a cactus garden like this and have dinosaurs scattered throughout the garden.
i had never been to this part of town so i made tom pull over so we could take a look at the view. it was really beautiful.

since tom works at trader joes, they are offering all their workers FREE gym membership until septemeber, so tom and i went to 24 hour fitness signed up and did laps in the pool and then used the steam room, it was really awesome and we are both super stoked to be able to swim! it was the perfect end to a really really great day.

oh the great out doors...

every year the same group of girls go camping...and every year we have a blast...this year was no exception. this is the second time we went to the same place....tuolumne, ca. it is a very very small town just east of yosemite national park..this place is serene and beautiful...a perfect place to just let time slip by and hang out...we left late thursday night and got there around 10:30ish and were greeted by a round of hugs and a cup full of a special mix one of the girls came up with...followed by some homemade rap and a WHOLE lot of laughter....the next morning we woke up to a light 4 minute flash of rain and then it was intensely HOT so we drove down to a local watering hole and sat in the water and admired the locals... who were interesting to say the least...

that night the second wave of girls came, played a round of  spoons, laughed, sat by the fire, laughed and ate smores...yum...a camping trip is never a camping trip if you don't have smores...a camping necessity really...the next day we got up early again because there is no such thing as sleeping in while camping...and went to the secret watering hole which is a steep hike down but SOOO worth it! every time we have gone there is no body ever there...this time there was a small group but they left and the place was ours! it is so beautiful i could set up a little tree house and live there for the rest of my life...just me and the mister!

my cousin aka "jane" she is so awesome for jumping off this rope

that night we took it easy...had a good yummy filling dinner and basically called it a night...the next morning we packed up...went to the touristy town of jamestown and had one more greasy meal together before we hit the road back home to realty...i can't tell you how much i love these girls...

do you have any camping trips planned this summer?  there is nothing better then, nature, awesome friends, a campfire and a whole lot of laughter....
