stripe & bow chic

yay its wednesday! i am doing my happy dance as today is my thursday which means tomorrow is my friday! and not only is today such a great day but the mister and i are going to an a's game. sadly they are doing really poorly but i don't blame them...they had a horrible manager who recently got fired. we will always support them win or loose!

today is a bike chic day! another work outfit that i just love! i just bought this dress and can i tell you a secret...it is the only piece of clothing i own that has a bow on it! hehe oh and the only thing i own that is grey too! crazy! i love the fabric of this dress and i love that i paired it with the navy & mustard cardigan & a little pop of red! my coworker told me i looked like sailor moon..totally okay with that compliment!

ok people, lets talk toms! these shoes are amazing! if you don't own a pair, then damn it go and buy a pair! they are so amazingly comfy and so nice to ride a bike in plus i am SUPER happy i bough them in the red color as i just love wearing red and i had been looking for a cute pair of red shoes for a while. plus i love that they give back to the community too! they started selling glasses and for every pair you buy they give a prescription pair to a child in need! i wish more companies did that or if they do make it own! it feels good to support a company that provides to those who are less fortunate.

i love being goofy around the mister but it is always so hard to leave him in the morning that being goofy is the only way i can say goodbye....hehe... oh by the way...i get my new ipad today too! today is going to be a most wonderful day!! yay!!! hope you all have a fantastic day too!!

bicke chick outfit!

happy wednesday everyone!! thank goodness it is wednesday which means two more days till the weekend and my little niece's birthday bash! she is turning 2 on friday!!! she is growing up so fast and she gets cuter every time i see her! and i especially can't wait to give her the cape we bought her!!! she is going to look FANTASTIC in it!! will share pictures of her party next week!


well anywho...today's bike chick outfit is a favorite. this was the film from when i lost the minolta hi-matic on bart....

i have become a bit obsessed with the mustard yellow color lately and the sweater i am wearing is one of my favorites! i love the collar on it and that it is super warm and soft! it is over a dress that i bought in la when me, my cousin and sister in law went shopping for bridesmaids dresses.

i am on my way to work in this picture and it was oh so cold that morning so it was important to have tights on that day as well as my wool coat and gloves, which by the way i got new fingerless gloves with mitten pull overs from target thanks to jesse! thanks sweetie, i am loving them!!

i am almost ready for riding in the rain...just need some rain boots which i have been waiting for the right pair but i think i am just going to get black as they go with everything. any suggestions?

starting a tradition

HAPPY MONDAY!!!! thank you all for the wonderful comments about my pictures from boston! i had so much fun taking them and then waiting for them to be developed! 

....so the mister and i have noticed a trend...one day out of the week he meets me at bart...we ride our bikes to thrift town and then go get mexican food! we noticed this pattern last thursday so we have decided to start a tradition...it is so nice because recently we haven't been able to go on bike rides together and it is nice to not cook one night and it is always a nice to excuse to spend some time together as he often works late and i feel like a don't get to see him much sunday thru tuesday. so last thursday the mister met me at bart and we were off to thrift town

i felt i walked away with some amazing stuff....i got some work clothes which wasn't soo exciting so i didn't take pictures of them but i got some stuff for the shop and will update the store in a bit but right now i am swamped with other side projects :D

  i found this really amazing woven knit shift dress that looks like it was from the 70's...i decided to take a picture of my outfit  while pretending to work...hehehe...and then realized that my toes matched the dress perfectly!

 another amazing hand embroidered wall art to add to the bedroom...

 and a really cute apron with pockets! i saw the pattern first and knew whatever it was i needed to have! now i can clean my house in funky style :) anything that helps brighten up my chores is awesome in my book! after the treasure hunt it was off to our favorite mexican restaurant for NACHOS!!!

what is your favorite thrifted item? i couldn't tell you mine...to many, i LOVE them all <3

sorry no bike chick tip today :( i didn't have enough time to write a post but i will have a bike post later on this week but for now here are some things i found while on my vacation in new england!

while in woodstock, vermont we stopped in this really cute vintage store which is the oldest vintage in america! i wish i could remember the name of the place because they had really amazing clothes and hats and they played the best music to shop to. while there i found this really great cream dress for $5!!! it is a bit too big on top but that is nothing a little sewing can't fix :D also found this really awesome white collared button up with an eagle embroidered on it! it fits like a glove and i can't wait to wear it on the weekend...i wish i could wear to work but it might not be appropriate BUT i haven't had time to play with it so it might make its way into a work outfit :)

after breakfast one day we stopped at the salvation arm....this place was also truly amazing...i think any small town will always have the best treasure...i am kicking myself because their was a ralph lauren blazer there that had a metal embroidered eagle on the front pocket..it was the business but too big...now i want to fly back and buy it and get it tailored..i hate when that happens! oh well too late i guess :( but i did find some untouched doc martens that i have been wanting for a really long time! i can't wait to wear these with a cute floral print dress :)  i was so happy that they were my size...i have a really hard time finding cute shoes my size while thrifting...sometimes i wish i had a size 6 foot...i would have the most awesome closet full of shoes!


i'll post more pictures of my trip....waiting for one more roll to get developed!

busy bee

we just got back from dinner and treasure hunting. our go to thrift store was having a sale and everybody and their mother was there...not the greatest time to go but we did and we still were able to get some good stuff. the mister got a really nice wool pendelton equiped with leather elbow patches and a great pair of moccasin slippers to dance around the house in...the thought of that just made me giggle...

i walked away with two great skirts and a really  awesome dress...i love the black mini cord skirt with the little red flowers on it...all they need is just a little bit of extra love and they are ready to go! i will be up sewing all night to finish up some things for my photo shoot tomorrow. i am really excited about it! my first photo shoot and new items for my shop! yahoo!!! my model...aka my cousin will be coming over tomorrow to help as i am a bit too big for some of the items... it is going to be like dress up! i am hoping to get stuff up on my store sunday but that might be a bit ambitious as i have lots of other stuff to do on sunday too! well i better get crackalackin'. hope you all have a fun weekend!

untapped treasure hunting

on the drive up to camping my cousin had mentioned that one of our friends had camped here july 4th weekend and discovered this great little thrift store...which was one of the first things she mentioned when we got t out of the car...that it was imperative that we go....man was it amazing! it looked like a beat up shack from the outside but inside it was filled with amazing untouched treasures...each one of the girls walked out of that store with a box filled with amazing finds and each person spent no more then $20!!!!!!!! i couldn't believe it! here in the bay area i can easily walk away with the amount of stuff i bought and have spent around $30...truly a gold mind....no really...tuolumne used to be a place where gold was mined...how to do you like that factoid :D

anywho...i was really excited to walk in to the store and find the two owl prints staring right at me as if they new i was coming...those were clenched tightly in my arms the entire time i was in the store...i love the cute earthenware mug and the glass salt and pepper shaker...i saw the tiger cub patch at the register and new the mister would like it...he used to be in the tiger cub club when he was a tiny one...the black faux alligator purse will be put in my etsy shop and i am really happy with my denim dress and my navy polyester 70's wrap skirt and sleeveless small check button up...all that outfit needs is a pair of red cowboy boots and i am off to the rode or a dallas themed bbq...your pick

i am determined to go to smaller towns or better yet...go on ROAD TRIP and pick through these untapped treasure chests :D
